The Victorian Silo Art Trail continues to surprise us. We drove to Arkona to find a stunning tribute to a local legend.
It's a double feature, really – two silos transformed into a vibrant mural by the artist Smug. And he is rapidly becoming one of our favourite artists on this silo art trail.
The first silo depicts a weathered gentleman in a hat and glasses, seemingly lost in thought. The other silo showcases the tools of his trade: a tennis racquet and a bright yellow ball hovering in a gloved hand. As we learned, the mural celebrates a local tennis coach, and it does so beautifully. The scale of the artwork is impressive, and the detail is simply remarkable. It's a fitting tribute to a man who clearly made a significant impact on the Arkona community. We found the location easily enough, and you will too.
