We've seen our fair share of interesting places on our travels, but Monarto Safari Park, just outside the Rural City of Murray Bridge, South Australia, is one that genuinely took us by surprise. The scale of the place is impressive right from the outset

It's not every day we get to hand-feed a giraffe, but Lisa was particularly keen to get up close to these gentle giants, and who were we to argue?

The experience was quite something; those long, inquisitive necks reaching down for a snack. It definitely set the tone for a memorable day.

As we continued our tour, we encountered an ostrich family. Mum and Dad were keeping a watchful eye over their brood of fluffy chicks, a truly heartwarming sight

Just as we were making our way towards the exit, a pride of lions decided to put on a show. They sauntered right up to the enclosure fence, as if to bid us farewell

. It was a royal send-off indeed, and a perfect ending to our day at Monarto. This day will certainly be in our memories for years to come.
