We always appreciate finding unexpected gems on our travels across this vast country. We found one such place today in the town of Monash, South Australia: the Monash Adventure Park.
The sign itself sets the tone: "The Monash Adventure Park," proclaiming its purpose.

It’s a bit like the sign welcoming you to Jurassic Park, except instead of dinosaurs, the park has… well, we’ll get to that.
What makes this park special isn’t just the equipment; it's the overall design. It's thoughtfully laid out, with winding paths leading you through lush greenery.

The well-maintained landscape is a treat, offering shade and spots for families to relax. There are plenty of picnic tables scattered around, ideal for enjoying a packed lunch.
And then there's the playground itself. It's dominated by two leaning towers connected by a bridge, accessible by a rather impressive set of stairs.

The towers are brightly colored and whimsical, looking like something out of a Dr. Seuss book. Water gently cascades down the stairs between the towers, a nice touch that adds to the playful atmosphere.
There's also a water play area with a small lake, complete with a charming little building in the middle, accessible via a bridge. From the building, one can enjoy an overview of the entire area.

It all feels very considered.
The Monash Adventure Park is a great example of how a community can create a space that is both fun and beautiful. If you are ever passing through the Riverland region, it's definitely worth a stop.
