Waikerie proved to be a delightful stop along the Murray River in South Australia, offering a blend of art, scenery, and quintessential small-town charm. We arrived to find another silo art installation gracing the landscape.

This one depicted the local birdlife.
The Murray River itself is a majestic sight. We found a scenic overlook that gave us a splendid view of the river winding its way through the landscape.

The colours of the water and the surrounding vegetation were quite striking, making it easy to understand why this river is so vital to the region.
That evening, we decided to try the local pub. It was bustling with activity and a great place to soak up the local atmosphere.

We settled in for a meal.
The town itself also boasted some other interesting public art. We found this sculpture in a local park.

Lisa couldn't resist sitting down with the iron man for a photo. We ended our day at a free camp close to the river, listening to the sounds of the river and the wildlife.
