The Copper Coast has a certain charm, and Kadina, South Australia, is no exception. We decided to stop here to replenish our supplies, because even retired couples need to keep the pantry stocked. But it was more than just grocery shopping that caught our eye. It was the way the town seemed to blend its history with modern artistic expressions.

After our shopping trip, we took a wander around the town centre, which led us to the town's central gardens. It was there we found, quite unexpectedly, a beautifully maintained bandstand.

The structure itself is a testament to a bygone era, a time when community gatherings centred around music and shared experiences. We could almost hear the echoes of brass bands and cheerful laughter.

Not far from the bandstand, we spotted a beautifully restored steam train, proudly displaying the name "Apex Express."

It's a powerful reminder of the vital role railways played in the development of this region, once transporting copper and connecting communities. It's a tangible link to the past, sitting amidst the greenery.

Of course, no visit to a town these days is complete without a bit of silo or water tower art. And Kadina did not disappoint! Towering above the surrounding buildings, we noticed a recently painted water tower adorned with the image of a woman.

The mural added a touch of elegance to the industrial structure. It's quite a statement piece for the town.

Before leaving Kadina, we couldn't help but admire the West End Hotel.

The Federation architecture of the Hotel dominates the corner, and brings a sense of the grandeur of a time long past. It seems to be a focal point in town, and we enjoyed a coffee as we watched town life pass by. Kardina proved to be a pleasant stop, offering a little bit of everything to pique our interest.
