A morning walk is our favourite way to start the day, especially when we're in a new place like Quorn, South Australia. After settling in, we decided to stretch our legs and explore a bit of the town on foot. We soon discovered the Pithi Kawi-Quorn Bush Food Walking Trail.

The sign details the 2km loop and what it offers. Most importantly, it warned us to wear comfortable shoes and hats. It also reminded us to stay on the formed pathway, which seemed wise, given the proximity to, well, nature.

The trail itself proved to be a delightful surprise. It's a well-maintained path meandering through native vegetation.

But what really caught our eye were the sculptures dotted along the way. Two metal kangaroos sit perched on rocks, keeping a watchful eye on passersby.

They strike a curious pose; Lisa swears they were gossiping about us as we walked past. A bit further along, we encountered a striking redgum eagle, standing tall and proud.

The artist clearly captured the bird's majesty, which reminded us that birds are often the first greeters of the morning. And then, because it's Australia, there's even an emu crafted from what appeared to be old farming equipment.

The creativity is quite something.

Of course, the "bush food" aspect of the trail was interesting, though we didn't exactly sample anything. It was enough to know what *could* be eaten. We're far more comfortable sticking to the local bakery. Overall, the Pithi Kawi Trail is a pleasant way to spend an hour or so in Quorn. We recommend it.
