Our travels brought us to the charming town of Latrobe, where we discovered a delightful surprise: Anvers Chocolate Factory, housed in a place they call Blackwood Palace.

The sign describing its history piqued our interest immediately; we are always fascinated when places of historical significance find new and interesting purposes.

The building itself is quite picturesque, especially from the front.

It’s a white building with lovely gardens, making it as inviting as it is intriguing. From another angle, the building really does look like a stately home or manor.

It's easy to see why they call it a Palace.

Of course, the main draw is the chocolate. The Anvers Chocolate Shop is hard to miss, with its clearly marked entrance.

It's a dedicated building just for sales. Inside, the selection was impressive, to say the least. We were particularly taken by the extra-large decorated eggs.

They’re a bit pricey at $70 a pop, but they certainly made for a striking display. It would be a show-stopping Easter gift, that's for sure!

We ultimately decided on a few smaller, more manageable treats for ourselves. After all, one can't leave a chocolate factory empty-handed! It was a sweet little stop in Latrobe that we would recommend to any fellow travelers with a sweet tooth.
