Kaniva, Victoria. It was a pleasant enough spot, and the town had a bit of an artistic streak that caught our attention. The main draw was the GrainCorp silos, now canvases thanks to artist David Lee Pereira.

The mural depicts an osprey with impressive detail, and its scale against the silo is remarkable. It's quite striking against the clear blue sky, and the level of skill is admirable. While we appreciate the silos themselves, the town also had other peculiar art installations.

Scattered about the town were these painted sheep statues. Yes, sheep. Some were in parks, and others were positioned along the main street.

We spotted a few near the silos and even saw some standing guard in front of shops as we strolled the main street.

There was even a sheep-dog statue integrated amongst the sheep, which Lisa thought was the highlight.

We're not sure who’s idea it was to populate Kaniva with a flock of uniquely painted sheep, but we certainly enjoyed the quirky touch it gave to the town. These whimsical sheep statues are a great way to welcome guests to Kaniva.
