We pulled into Tintinara, South Australia, after a fairly long day, the landscape mostly a blur of wheat fields. After levelling things out, Lisa put on the kettle, and we started planning our evening.

We knew from experience that cooler nights can be common even in the height of summer, especially when we head further south. This is where a good Muscat comes in handy.

We've found that an aged Muscat makes for the perfect nightcap to warm us up when those temperatures drop. We even bought some in preparation for a trip down to Tasmania later this year.

After a surprisingly delicious dinner sourced from the local Tintinara IGA, we settled down to enjoy the quiet of the South Australian countryside. Lisa opened a bottle of Monty's Fine Old Muscat from Cape Naturaliste Vineyard. At eight years old, it's the perfect choice for a cold evening. We sat back, relaxed, and watched the stars emerge. Sometimes, the simple things really are the best.
