Mundoora, South Australia, isn’t exactly a metropolis, but it certainly knows how to treat travellers. We’d heard whispers about the Mundoora Free Caravan, Camping & Museum Park, and decided to investigate for ourselves. After all, who can resist a free camp?
Pulling in, we were immediately impressed. Free doesn’t always equate to fancy, but this spot was clean, well-maintained, and generously equipped. The highlight, in our opinion, was the camp kitchen.

Now, we didn’t actually use the kitchen ourselves on this occasion, as we have our own setup, but we certainly appreciated the amenities. There's a large communal table and cooking facilities. It's quite the setup! Looking at the shelves full of empty bottles, it looks like this place has seen its fair share of good times.
For a free camp, it’s remarkably impressive. It certainly reflects well on Mundoora and its commitment to welcoming visitors. We always appreciate a town that understands the needs of those on the road.

It’s a simple thing, really, but a well-maintained free camp makes a world of difference when you're constantly on the move. We’ve certainly seen enough subpar ones to appreciate a gem when we find one.
