Broomehill Village offered us a pleasant surprise on our travels. We were simply looking for a convenient and free overnight stop, and the old cricket grounds certainly fit the bill.

It's a well-maintained space with plenty of room, and the peace and quiet were most welcome.
The real find, however, was right in the heart of town. The main street is dominated by a rather grand, two-story building, home to Happy Jones Cafe and General Store.

This wasn't just a place to grab a quick coffee; it was a step back in time.
Inside, the place is absolutely crammed with… well, everything. From antiques and collectables to local produce and craftwork, it was like wandering through a very organized, very charming attic.

We ended up spending far longer than we intended, browsing through the curiosities and chatting with the friendly staff. It's a testament to the kind of character you find in these small Western Australian towns. We certainly enjoyed a very nice latte while we were there. Broomehill wasn't on our radar, but we’re glad we stopped.
