Our travels have taken us to many interesting places, but some stays are more memorable than others. During our time in the Gympie Regional area of Queensland, we found ourselves at the Standown Caravan Park.

This particular park caters to ex-service personnel and emergency service workers. It’s a remarkably peaceful place, and it was quite a privilege to stay there.
The tranquility of the surroundings was immediately apparent. The park is well-maintained, with plenty of open space and mature trees providing ample shade. We were struck by the sense of community among the residents, and the quiet respect everyone showed for each other. It was a welcome change of pace from some of the busier, more tourist-oriented caravan parks we’ve visited.
We spent a pleasant afternoon strolling around the grounds and taking in the scenery. There’s a serene pond on the property, complete with water lilies and lush greenery.

The overall effect is quite calming.
We also noticed a beautifully constructed stone wall feature.

The craftsmanship is impressive, and the surrounding landscaping adds to its charm. It seems to be a focal point for reflection within the park.
The Standown Caravan Park in Gympie Regional is more than just a place to park the caravan; it's a community and a haven for those who have served. A worthwhile stop on our journey.
