We decided to continue exploring Brisbane City, choosing a different approach than our previous driving excursions. We opted for a leisurely day utilising the city's efficient ferry network.

The Brisbane River is truly the lifeblood of the city, and the ferry system is a fantastic way to get around while enjoying the views. The CityFerry is quite efficient and clean.
We meandered along the riverfront, admiring the meticulously maintained gardens and open spaces near the ferry terminals. The floral displays were quite impressive, showcasing a variety of colours and textures.

We find the Brisbane River to be very aesthetically pleasing to the senses with its sounds and visuals, a truly vibrant and immersive experience.
A highlight of our day was hopping on a CityCat, one of the high-speed catamarans that zip along the river. It’s a particularly scenic ride, offering unique perspectives of the Brisbane skyline.

The architecture along the river is an interesting mix of modern high-rises and older, more traditional buildings.
Naturally, a trip to Brisbane isn't complete without a photo opportunity with the iconic "Brisbane" sign.

We are hardly ones to shirk tourist duties. It proved to be a popular spot, but we managed to snag our obligatory shot with the cityscape as a backdrop.
We even enjoyed seeing the marina near the city centre, with its various yachts and sailing boats bobbing gently in the water.

You could really feel the maritime vibe of Brisbane here, despite the city being quite a ways inland from the coast.
By the end of the day, we’d logged quite a few kilometres on the ferries, and our feet were certainly feeling it. But the fresh air and captivating sights of Brisbane City made it all worthwhile. It was a welcome change of pace after our previous, somewhat hurried, adventures.
