After the peaceful serenity of Hervey Bay, we decided a bit of Queensland's renowned beach culture was in order. Thus, we pointed ourselves toward Noosa Heads, a location often spoken about in reverent tones.

Our initial impression was... well, crowded. But then again, what do we expect in September? We’re hardly the only retirees with a penchant for sunshine and sand. The main beach was bustling with activity, families building sandcastles, surfers riding the gentle waves, and sunbathers soaking up the rays. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere was undeniably cheerful.

We decided to take a stroll along the boardwalk. It ran parallel to the beach, offering a slightly elevated view of the scene. The manicured gardens and upmarket apartments lining the boardwalk certainly added to the overall air of affluence. We even managed to snap a quick selfie. Lisa insisted.

Moving away from the main beach, we discovered a quieter side to Noosa Heads. The Noosa River, with its calm waters and abundant birdlife, provided a welcome contrast. A couple of blokes were out enjoying the afternoon fishing, although whether they were having any luck, we couldn't tell.

Overall, Noosa Heads is a mixed bag. It's undeniably beautiful, but also undeniably popular. If you're looking for solitude, this might not be the place for you. But if you enjoy a vibrant beach scene and don't mind sharing your patch of sand, then Noosa Heads is definitely worth a visit. We were glad we saw it, though we may prefer visiting in the off season next time.
