After the rally in Maryborough, we decided a coastal change of pace was in order. Hervey Bay beckoned, and we were keen to explore. A day trip to Urangan was exactly what we needed, offering a serene blend of seaside charm and local character.

The pier at Urangan is certainly the main attraction, stretching far out into the inviting waters of Hervey Bay. It was a pleasant day, with just enough clouds to keep the sun from being too aggressive.

Lisa, of course, couldn't resist snapping a few photos herself. The expanse of the water, the gentle breeze...it’s a photographer's dream.

Walking to the end of the Urangan pier and back provided some good exercise. The clear water certainly looked inviting, though we resisted the urge to jump in. Perhaps next time.

We spotted some interesting wildlife too. There was a rather portly pelican perched atop a light post, looking quite content.

It regarded us with a distinctly unimpressed air, as if our presence was a minor inconvenience.

All in all, our visit to Urangan was a delightful interlude during our travels.

We even managed to get a quick photo of ourselves for posterity. Sometimes, it's nice to just relax, breathe in the sea air, and enjoy the simple pleasures of a coastal town.
