Leaving the Burdekin behind, we made our way further south, eventually settling at a campsite at Taylorwood. We found it somewhat amusing that this tranquil spot was, in its previous life, a nudist colony. The juxtaposition was not lost on us. It certainly made for interesting conversation.
We decided to venture out and explore the sights of Shute Harbour in Airlie Beach. The turquoise waters were particularly inviting, teeming with boats of all sizes. The picturesque scenery was certainly a sight to behold. We paused, soaking in the view and trying to commit it to memory.

The town itself was bustling with activity, a stark contrast to the quiet seclusion of our temporary home. We strolled along the waterfront, admiring the views.

Shute Harbour is undeniably a stunning location.
Upon our return to the campsite, we settled down for a quiet evening. As we sat enjoying the peaceful ambiance, we received an unexpected visitor: a very curious kookaburra. It perched itself on a nearby tree stump, seemingly scrutinizing us with an intense gaze.

The bird remained there for quite some time, observing our every move. We found its presence both intriguing and a little unnerving. It was a pleasant reminder of the natural beauty that surrounds us, even in the most unexpected places.
