Having established our temporary residence at the Burdekin Farm Stay, we felt it was time to explore the nearby coastline. A day trip was in order.

Our first stop was the town of Ayr. While not on the scale of a major metropolitan centre, Ayr possessed a certain charm that we found quite appealing. It's the sort of place where time seems to slow down, allowing one to truly appreciate the smaller things. We took a brief stroll through the town centre, admiring the local architecture and the laid-back atmosphere.

The town square had a particularly nice water feature.

From Ayr, we continued our journey to Alva Beach. The coastline there is expansive, offering stunning views of the ocean. We couldn't resist the temptation to dip our toes in the water.

The water was quite refreshing. One of us (guess who!) even braved a bit of wading further out.

The other kept a watchful eye, of course. We enjoyed a peaceful paddle in the shallows, the sun warming our faces and the gentle waves lapping at our ankles. It was a perfect way to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of the Queensland coast. Afterwards, we packed up and made our way back to the relative bustle of the park.
