After all that walking around Magnetic Island, we were extremely happy with the fantastic day we had on the island, but were glad to get back to the van for a well-earned rest. While the island held a certain charm, the mainland, with its familiar comforts, called to us.

The ferry ride itself provides a scenic interlude. The fresh sea air does wonders to clear the mind.

As we pulled away from the island, we couldn't help but reflect on our time there. The contrasting bays, the wildlife encounters, and the sheer relaxation of island life all contributed to a memorable experience.
The approach to the mainland offers a different perspective. The coastline slowly comes into focus, the buildings growing larger and more defined. The harbour itself is a hive of activity, with various boats and vessels coming and going.

There were even a couple of water police vessels moored nearby. The world is certainly a different place.

Back on solid ground, we looked forward to the next leg of our adventure, with the familiar hum of the road ahead calling to us.
