Today was, by all accounts, a day dedicated to leisure. After our rather active time, we decided to embrace a slower pace. Some days, the most important thing is to recharge the batteries.

While Lisa devoted her time to keeping JJ, our canine companion, company – or perhaps it was the other way around, given JJ's penchant for demanding attention – one of us decided to explore the local trails. The “Dreaming Trail” called, a relatively close, 9.2 kilometer hike.

The name itself conjured images of tranquil landscapes and perhaps, just perhaps, a momentary escape from the relentless Queensland humidity.
The trail itself was a delightful contrast to the cultivated farmland we'd been surrounded by. Lush vegetation thrived on either side, creating a tunnel of green that filtered the sunlight.

The path snaked and wound, offering glimpses of a surprisingly verdant interior. Eventually, the path lead to a creek.

It was a lovely place to pause, to listen to the water tumbling over the rocks and to appreciate the coolness provided by the thick canopy.
The best part of "do nothing" days is reflecting on the little things we experienced and are grateful for in the past. The "Dreaming Trail" and JJ's company were certainly both highlights!
