Kurramine Beach, just south of Innisfail, beckoned with promises of relaxation and ocean breezes. It would be fair to say that it delivers.

Sometimes, the greatest adventures are the ones where nothing much happens. That's certainly been the case during our stay at Kurramine Beach. We have embraced the art of simply *being*. Mornings begin with the gentle lapping of waves, a far cry from the alarm clock that once dictated our lives. We sip our tea slowly, watching the sky perform its daily colour show.

Kurramine Beach has a certain charm, and while there isn't a great deal 'to do', that's the beauty of it. We find ourselves content to wander along the beach, collecting shells (Lisa insists), and observing the local birdlife. Others seem to share our appreciation for the laid-back atmosphere. We witnessed one eager fisherman with what must have been an early start.

The town itself is small but friendly. A short drive reveals a collection of tractors used to put boats and pull them out of the water, a quirky reminder of the area's agricultural roots. It's always interesting to see what the locals have collected.

Indeed, this is what travelling is all about – slowing down and appreciating the simple things. The weather has been perfect for us to just sit back and enjoy what nature has to offer. Kurramine Beach certainly has a lot going for it, not least of all, the chance to do absolutely nothing. And sometimes, nothing is everything.
