It's always a touch melancholic when it’s time to leave a place we've found especially peaceful. With regret, we packed our belongings. We were moving on from our lakeside place of paradise. Sunrises like the one we experienced over the water made it hard to contemplate leaving for the day.

Camping beside the glassy expanse of the lake truly makes it all worthwhile, providing a quiet solitude one rarely finds in our increasingly connected world.

Before we left, we wanted one more look around the charming village of Yungaburra.

We'd heard tales of its quaint streets, nd even more enticingly, the promise of platypus sightings.

These elusive creatures, with their duck-like bills and shy demeanour, are always a treat to behold. After a patient wait by the water's edge, our patience paid off. A platypus made an appearance that absolutely made our day.

These moments are what make our travels so rewarding, providing unexpected joys along our way. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best experiences are those you don't plan, but simply stumble upon.
